NaNoWriMo Is Done-Did You Win?

So, yay, my 18th NaNo is complete. Do I have 18 books published?

Nope, not even close.

I have had three novels published, for those of you who don't know me. (and I did ghost writing and wrote 20 picture books for FarFaria)

Then I went and wrote for television, then I was a script doctor, then a reader for the studios, then I started my own consulting business, but every year I do NaNo; it's great fun.

NOW--WHAT DO I HAVE PLANNED???

Well, drum roll, I hope to get out four novels a year.

My NaNo is a HOLIDAY book---so drat, I can't release a Christmas book in Jan, so for December, I will be writing ANOTHER book--this will be the third one this fall.

I'm excited because I love drafting.

Writers always ask me how I write fast.

Well, there is the secret.

Are you ready?

I literally write fast! I sit down and just type.

I have learned to outline when I was screenwriting and TV writing as you have to show to directors and producers before you spend time getting all the brilliant words down.

So, I love being a pantser, but I am now doing a 7-9 beat structure that I put down and then I write!

I NEVER edit, and I always know where I am going.

Here's a secret!!---bounce ideas off someone. It can be a writer or your spouse--it's not because they have great ideas, it's because when you bounce ideas, you will often find out what is working and what isn't.
